At the beginning of this project, we started off by learning about socialization and what it was. While we were learning about it, we were also learning the cycle of socialization. Once we had many weeks of building background knowledge behind us, we started to brainstorm ideas for our masks. We were assigned to design a mask about how we were socialized. A picture of my mask is below. Once our masks were finished, we spent a lot of time thinking about our exhibition, we wanted it to correctly display our knowledge, while being interactive and fun. We decided on having the exhibition be a tour through the Cycle of Socialization. Each room represented at different stage of the cycle. The exhibition was so empowering to a lot of people, which was our goal. Overall, I really liked this project because it made me have a different perspective on people, and I learned how to look at life through a different lens.

Project Reflection
I grew as a writer in this project because I learned many new ways to make an essay interesting and intriguing. One part of my essay in particular that I grew with was my conclusion. When I was younger, I was always taught that conclusions were to summarize what your whole essay was about. However during this project, I learned to not only summarize but also to connect and draw together your final thoughts.
One huge takeaway that will stay with me forever is the exhibition. I will remember this forever because it had such a huge impact on a lot of people. The exhibition gave all of us students, the opportunity to show people what we learned. We gave an experience that will change people’s everyday lives.
My goal that I made for myself was to think more analytically with my ideas. I tend to choose one idea and finalize it right away. I really wanted to work on this so I could challenge myself and stretch my brain. It has been challenging to fulfill this goal because we haven’t been asked to create any idea for a while. But, I do plan to work on thinking about all of my ideas before I finalize one. Also I want to think more about what is good and bad about the idea and really think critically before deciding.
I was assigned to be on part of the exhibition crew. We were the group who decided the location, made signage, and organized logistics. I felt that I did my job really well because I was able to communicate with other groups really well and stay focused. I was also really proud of how our signs turned out because we didn’t have very much time to create them and we weren’t very good at using photoshop.
